Ofgem Fines British Gas For Customer Complaints


In the UK, British Gas is the largest energy supplier but now more people are losing out because of the company’s inadequate control of customer grievances.  This is what the energy regulator Ofgem has discovered which made them to penalized British gas with a £2.5 million fine.  This is the largest fine ever imposed regarding customer service matters.  According to Ofgem, British Gas failed to reopen the complaints of the customers trying to make follow-ups of their respective grievances.  The company also did not have sufficient rules to handle complaints coming from small industries.  British Gas was discovered to be in breach of the rules about the standards of handling complaints.
